You’ve pulled out your blender to make a smoothie. Now what?
ADD TEA TO IT!!!
With the warmer temperatures here to stay (we hope), there should always be iced tea on hand. So, no matter your favorite flavor, there’s a smooth’tea’ you can enjoy.
We started with our sweet tart iced tea
Added frozen strawberries, blueberries, and peaches. Threw in a few chia seeds, and you’re looking at refreshing!

Raise your glass to 2014!

Here’s the perfect recipe for your New Year Gathering…

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts brewed cranberry harvest tea {directions on brewing a perfect pitcher can be found here}
  • 8 slices (quarter size and about 1/8 in. thick) peeled fresh ginger
  • 2 cinnamon sticks {about 3 in. long}
  • 2 whole star anise
  • 1/3 cup cognac or brandy
  • 8 cups Champagne or other sparkling wine {about 2 2/3 bottles, 750 ml. each}, chilled
  • 32 to 48 fresh cranberries, rinsed {optional, but I love a garnish}

Preparation

  1. In a 3 1/2- to 4-quart pan, combine brewed cranberry harvest tea, ginger, cinnamon sticks, and star anise. Boil over high heat until reduced to 2 cups, about 1 hour. Let cool about 30 minutes, then pour through a fine strainer into a small pitcher. Chill syrup until cold, at least 1 1/2 hours.
  2. For each serving, pour 2 tablespoons of the cranberry syrup and 1 teaspoon cognac into a Champagne flute {6 to 8oz}. Add 1/2 cup {4oz} Champagne. Garnish with 2 or 3 cranberries if desired.

Poolside relaxing is a must. Iced tea is a must. And popsicles are a definite must!

just add honey has compiled a few recipes that are easy to prepare and will keep you and the kiddies happy while you beat the heat!

Sweet Tea Popsicles

Ingredients

Directions
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
Remove from heat and pour over tea bag {1/4 cup loose tea in teabag/infuser/cheesecloth}
Brew for 5 minutes, squeeze tea bag and discard.
Add 3/4 cup of sugar, stir until dissolved.
Add 1 cup of ice and stir until melted.
Pour sweet tea into popsicle molds and freeze.

Lemon & Green Tea Popsicles

  • ¼ Cup Meyer Lemon Juice
  • 1 ¼ Cups Water, for lemonade
  • ¾ Cup Sugar
  • 1 ½ Cups Water, for tea
  • ¼ Cup Green Tea {try our tropical green or sencha green tea}
  • 10 Leaves Basil

Directions

Juice the Meyer lemons.
Bring the 1 1/2 cup of water to a boil and brew your green tea per its instructions.
While the tea steeps, tear up the basil leaves and add them to the lemon juice.
Add just enough green tea to cover and mull them.
Add the remaining tea and let it steep for about 15 minutes.
Add the remaining water and remove the basil leaves.
Add the sugar and mix it all well.
Divide the mixture amongst your popsicle molds and freeze them.
Enjoy in about 7 to 10 hours.
 

Strawberry Basil Green Tea Popsicles

Directions

In a blender, combine all ingredients. Blend for 30 seconds or until mixture is smooth.

Divide mixture between popsicle molds and freeze for 6 hours.

Spring drinks are not the same without the proper garnish!!!

Fancy up your iced tea mint to be tea with mint lemon ice sticks from Le Zoe Musings.
Or try vanilla ice cubes from oh my veggies. Perfect for an iced rooibos chai latte.

It’s that time of the year again. Time to fancy up your water for those incredible summertime outdoor get-togethers! I recently made some mint lemon ice sticks using an ice stick tray. Easy, refreshing, and oooh… So Fancy!

mint-lemon-ice-sticksAdd mint leaves, tiny lemon slices, and water into the ice tray mold. Freeze and enjoy. Imagine all the yummy refreshing combos you can make!

We are having a tea party. We are having a tea party!

And you’re invited. You’re welcome.

Put on your prettiest dress or a sharp suit, and grab your coat and come to the parTEA!

On our menu, we will serve…

Three hot teas {earl grey cream (of course) . jasmine . chamomile fruit}

Two iced teas {georgia peaches . berries!}

Fresh fruit

And the yummiest tea sandwiches on this side of the Mississippi! I’ll even give you the recipe, but you must promise not to tell a soul (Martha Stewart told me)!

 

Tea Sandwiches

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh chives
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 16 very thin slices white bread
  • 1/4 pound Prosciutto or ham
  • Thinly sliced English cucumber
  • Ground pepper

In a small bowl, combine butter, chives, and mustard. Spread bread slices with a layer of seasoned butter. Top 8 bread slices with 2 slices each prosciutto and a layer of sliced cucumber. Season with pepper. Sandwich with remaining bread slices, buttered side down. With a sharp knife, cut off crusts, then cut each sandwich in half on the diagonal. Serve immediately or transfer to a platter and refrigerate, covered with plastic wrap, up to 3 hours.

And today is OPENING DAY for the 2012 Olympic Games. Since tea is the beverage of choice in London and nothing says celebration like gin, just add honey offers a cocktail recipe that will have the crowd going wild. {insert applause here}

What better way to celebrate London style!

Chamomile Gin Cocktail

Chamomile Gin Cocktail 

ingredients…

  • 1/4 cup dried chamomile flowers {our chamomile fruit will delight your taste buds}
  • 6 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cups London dry gin
  • 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice

directions…

  • Mix chamomile and 6 Tbsp. very hot water in a medium bowl. Let stand for 1 minute. Stir in honey; mash chamomile with a wooden spoon. Let cool slightly. Strain mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on solids to release liquid. Discard solids in sieve. Add gin, lemon juice, and 4 cups ice to pitcher.
  • Stir until ice is melted. Divide among chilled coupe glasses

It’s five o’clock somewhere!

just add honey was in the kitchen, playing around with vodka and lemons, and the marTEAni was born. We’re no ‘mixologist’, but we think this drinky is pretty darn good!

Brew a strong pitcher of tea {1/2 cup of berries! tea . 8 cups of cold water.} When ready, pour a 6oz of brewed tea in a glass, add ice, 1oz vodka {don’t worry, you can refill your glass as often as you like. we won’t tell}, and a squeeze of half a lemon.
Stir.
Drink.
Repeat.
