March 11, 2014

You’ve pulled out your blender to make a smoothie. Now what?
ADD TEA TO IT!!!
With the warmer temperatures here to stay (we hope), there should always be iced tea on hand. So, no matter your favorite flavor, there’s a smooth’tea’ you can enjoy.
We started with our sweet tart iced tea
Added frozen strawberries, blueberries, and peaches. Threw in a few chia seeds, and you’re looking at refreshing!

Raise your glass to 2014!

cranberry and champagne

Here’s the perfect recipe for your New Year Gathering…

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts brewed cranberry harvest tea {directions on brewing a perfect pitcher can be found here}
  • 8 slices (quarter size and about 1/8 in. thick) peeled fresh ginger
  • 2 cinnamon sticks {about 3 in. long}
  • 2 whole star anise
  • 1/3 cup cognac or brandy
  • 8 cups Champagne or other sparkling wine {about 2 2/3 bottles, 750 ml. each}, chilled
  • 32 to 48 fresh cranberries, rinsed {optional, but I love a garnish}

Preparation

  1. In a 3 1/2- to 4-quart pan, combine brewed cranberry harvest tea, ginger, cinnamon sticks, and star anise. Boil over high heat until reduced to 2 cups, about 1 hour. Let cool about 30 minutes, then pour through a fine strainer into a small pitcher. Chill syrup until cold, at least 1 1/2 hours.
  2. For each serving, pour 2 tablespoons of the cranberry syrup and 1 teaspoon cognac into a Champagne flute {6 to 8oz}. Add 1/2 cup {4oz} Champagne. Garnish with 2 or 3 cranberries if desired.

I love starting new. New shoes. New purse. New calender. New year.

May this year start something new in you. Do you have an idea that you want to flourish? Are you considering a change of pace? Location? Have you waited long enough for {{fill in the blank}}? Let 2014 be the year you see it through. Make it happen. Shake something up.

But first, chill your bubbly, brew your tea, and raise your glass!

What’s Fall without a cup of tea!

Image

Fall has arrived and you must have the proper cup to enjoy the changing of the leaves. Leave it to just add honey to set you up properly. We have compiled a list of our favorite teas that are perfect, accompanied with milk (cream, almond milk, your choice) or can be enjoyed alone. Whatever you fancy, don’t let this season pass without your favorite blend in hand.

Cheers!

LE ZOE MUSINGS

It’s that time of the year again. Time to fancy up your water for those incredible summertime outdoor get-togethers! I recently made some mint lemon ice sticks using an ice stick tray. Easy, refreshing, and oooh… So Fancy!

mint-lemon-ice-sticksAdd mint leaves, tiny lemon slices, and water into the ice tray mold. Freeze and enjoy. Imagine all the yummy refreshing combos you can make!

mint lemon ice sticks3Using them as stirring sticks is such a fun way to enjoy your water or with any other ice-dependent drinks.

we have flavor!

March 7, 2013

just add honey is honored to be chosen as a finalist in the Flavor of Georgia 2013 contest!

georgia_peachesBusinesses in Georgia submitted their best and our Georgia Peaches loose leaf tea was chosen as a finalist {exciting, huh}. We will strut our stuff along side so many talented Georgia food companies.

Our friends at Chocolate South are also finalist! Amy Stankus, creator and proprietor, created a Georgia Peaches BonBon that has our Georgia Peaches tea infused in her chocolate goodness {my mouth waters just typing the words}.

Other companies include sauces, jams and jellies, meat, cheeses, and snacks…

So, if you’re free and in the Atlanta area, stop by the freight Depot and have a sample. You can decide for yourself who has the Flavor of Georgia. We will be there to wash down your thirsty little mouths with our soon to be award-winning Georgia Peaches tea!

December 12, 2012

We are having a tea party. We are having a tea party!

And you’re invited. You’re welcome.

Put on your prettiest dress or a sharp suit, and grab your coat and come to the parTEA!

On our menu, we will serve…

Three hot teas {earl grey cream (of course) . jasmine . chamomile fruit}

Two iced teas {georgia peaches . berries!}

Fresh fruit

And the yummiest tea sandwiches on this side of the Mississippi! I’ll even give you the recipe, but you must promise not to tell a soul (Martha Stewart told me)!

Tea Sandwiches

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh chives
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 16 very thin slices white bread
  • 1/4 pound Prosciutto or ham
  • Thinly sliced English cucumber
  • Ground pepper

In a small bowl, combine butter, chives, and mustard. Spread bread slices with a layer of seasoned butter. Top 8 bread slices with 2 slices each prosciutto and a layer of sliced cucumber. Season with pepper. Sandwich with remaining bread slices, buttered side down. With a sharp knife, cut off crusts, then cut each sandwich in half on the diagonal. Serve immediately or transfer to a platter and refrigerate, covered with plastic wrap, up to 3 hours.

we make a mean marTEAni

February 24, 2012

It’s five o’clock somewhere!

just add honey was in the kitchen, playing around with vodka and lemons, and the marTEAni was born. We’re no ‘mixologist’, but we think this drinky is pretty darn good!

Brew a strong pitcher of tea {1/2 cup of berries! tea . 8 cups of cold water.} When ready, pour a 6oz of brewed tea in a glass, add ice, 1oz vodka {don’t worry, you can refill your glass as often as you like. we won’t tell}, and a squeeze of half a lemon.
Stir.
Drink.
Repeat.

Cheers!
