put that tea bag down!

August 20, 2010

You can’t get with the loose leaf tea hype because you think it takes too much time? Or you think your ‘baggie thingie’ tastes just fine? Or you think it costs more than your tea on a string? Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!

Loose leaf teas are easy to use, taste amazing, and are cents a cup to enjoy.

There are so many items on the market to make your loose tea experience more convenient. From unbleached bags, to teaspoon infusers, the options are endless to fit your lifestyle. There is no excuse!

Your ‘baggie thingie’ may taste ok, but what you really are enjoying is dust. Yeah, I said it. Tea dust. Imagine a strainer (or colander) with tea leaves in it. Now shake it. Every thing that falls through the strainer, goes into a bag and the tea left in the strainer, is just add honey. Which one do you think tastes better now?

“Okay. Okay. Okay. It all sounds good, tea lady. But loose leaf tea costs more than the alternative.”

Wrong again, buddy. While you may be getting 10-15 teabags in you box favorite, if you look at the packaging, you are only getting 1+ounces of tea. And at $3-5 each box, is it really a savings? Or you could get an ounce of high quality loose leaf tea for around $4-7 and have a much better cup.

The choice is yours. But don’t say I didn’t tell you so.
